Despite the state government's efforts to implement the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, thousands of eligible farmers remain deprived of financial assistance due to verification delays and transaction failures.

BARMER:

A government report presented in the state assembly in response to a query by MLA Govind Singh Dotasra highlighted that while 7.021 million farmers have successfully received payments under the scheme, tens of thousands are still awaiting their rightful benefits.

MLA Govind Singh Dotasra raised several questions in the state legislative assembly regarding financial assistance to small and marginal farmers under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He inquired about the exact date when the announcement to increase the amount under the scheme was made and sought details on the total financial allocation. Additionally, he questioned when the increased amount was distributed to the farmers and how many beneficiaries received the payment, demanding district-wise statistical data. He also raised concerns about pending applications under the scheme, asking for details on the number of applications still awaiting approval at different administrative levels and the reasons behind the delays, along with a district-wise breakdown.

The cooperation department, which submitted its response on February 27 to the assembly, stated that efforts are underway to expedite the verification process, reprocess failed transactions, and deploy additional manpower at the district and tehsil levels to clear the backlog of pending applications.
