Over 92% Dip in School Upgradation in Two Years

A sharp 92% decline was seen in the upgradation of schools under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA) in Rajasthan in the last two years, revealed the ministry of education's (MoE's) data presented in Parliament in response to a question by the Jhunjhunu MP Brijendra Ola.

According to the data, at least 187 primary schools across Rajasthan were upgraded to upper primary schools under the programme in 2022-23 session that dipped to 78 in 2023-24 and only 15 in the last 2024-25 session.

The data also showed that at least 220 schools were also upgraded to higher secondary under the SSA in 2022-23 session, while no upgradation in this category took place in the last two sessions in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
