JAIPUR: After chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma's intervention, the deadlock in the state assembly came to an end, and the suspension of the six Congress MLAs was also revoked on Thursday.

The six-day-long deadlock ended after Sharma intervened and held meetings with the opposition leaders.

Addressing the House after the Opposition returned to the assembly, Sharma said that the sentiments of the public towards elected representatives must be taken into account.

"Those who have elected us have high expectations and hopes from us. If we think of them and work, this mine and yours will end ... we should not get our ego but think of the people," he said.

He said members should refrain from disrupting proceedings of the assembly since the time of the House is valuable and the people are bearing the cost of the running of the House. "We should think how to make each moment count and do what is best for the people," he said.

"If any of our members say something inappropriate, it deeply affects them, and they cannot sleep at night feeling regretful," he said.
