BISALPUR DAM FILLED, GATES MAY OPENED FOR FIRST TIME IN 21 YEARS

Tonk’s Bisalpur dam which is one of the major drinking water sources in Jaipur division, has almost reached the brim by Monday following which the district administration has started preparation to open its gates for the first time in the last 21 years, officials familiar with the matter said.

“Bisalpur usually overflows at the end of the monsoon. This is the first time in the last 21 years when the dam reached almost up to the brim in mid-July. We are expecting that it will be filled up in the next two to three days. We will then open its gates to release
