Arms trafficking gang busted, 15 held: Police

The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in coordination with Pratapgarh Police, dismantled the “Uncle Gang”, led by gangster Salman, resulting in the arrest of 15 arms traffickers and licenced gun house operators from various locations in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, officers aware of the matter said on Friday.

Under the supervision of additional director general of police (crime and AGTF) Dinesh MN, the joint operation led by DIG Yogesh Yadav, additional SP Siddhant Sharma of AGTF, and Pratapgarh SP Vineet Kumar Bansal cracked down on the network that supplied illegal weapons to criminals across the states.

Additional director general of police (ADGP) Dinesh MN said that investigations revealed that several licenced gun houses were illegally selling arms and ammunition to criminals. “Following this lead, police conducted a series of arrests. On Friday, the team apprehended Kamal Solanki of Riya Arms Store (Mainpuri), Naveen Pohiya of Kali Gun House (Mathura), and Gopal alias Jolly Sharma of Sharma Gun House (Mathura),” he added.
