According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Rajasthan recorded over 120% excess rainfall since the monsoon hit the state on June 20. The state received an average rainfall of 141 mm, 79 mm higher than the normal range of 62 mm, officials aware of the matter said on Wednesday.

The state received an average rainfall of 141 mm, 79 mm higher than the normal range of 62 mm, officials aware of the matter said on Wednesday.
"In the two weeks of monsoon, Rajasthan has received an average of 141 mm of rain against the normal average of only 62 mm, which contributes to 120% excess rainfall. While around 169% excess rainfall has been reported in eastern Rajasthan, 66% excess was also recorded in the state's western part," said IMD Jaipur regional director Radhe Shyam Sharma.
