Raids across Bihar in multiple graft cases

In a major crackdown on corruption, the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), Special Vigilance Unit (SVU), and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Bihar Police on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids at six locations linked to two government officials, including a DSP from the Excise and Prohibition Department.

One of the key officials under the scanner is Pramod Kumar, an Executive Engineer with Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation (BSEIDC), who is facing a disproportionate assets (DA) case. According to officials, Kumar absconded prior to the raids, and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him.

The EOU conducted searches at multiple locations associated with Kumar, including his residence on Gola Road in Patna, his ancestral home in Sitamarhi, and a location in Sahara. The raids continued till evening and followed months of financial surveillance. The action was ini-

tiated based on credible inputs and a formal FIR registered on July 9.
