Lalu Likely to Stay RJD Chief as Party Set for Organisational Poll

Ahead of the state assembly polls, the organisational polls in the state's biggest opposition party, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), have been rolled out.
PATNA: They will see election of new office-bearers at the block and district level.
The party will also decide the party's new state and national president by July 5. The election of these two pivotal party posts has generated a lot of curiosity. The election will see participation of newly enrolled 1.07 crore members, inducted in the membership drive carried out for last many months.
There are chances that RJD chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav, who has been the head of the party since its formation in July 1997, will continue for another term of three years by getting elected unanimously while speculation is also rife that the party is not very keen on replacing incumbent state president and former minister Jagada Nand Singh from the post of state president, knowing it could prove spoiler in the state's caste centric political matrix.
