Coldwave Effect: Patna Schools To Stay Closed Till January 23

Barely a couple of days after reopening of all schools, Patna's district magistrate Chandra Shekhar Singh ordered closure of all schools up to Class 8 in Patna for two days, till January 23, due to prevalent cold weather and low temperature prevailing in the district particularly in the morning and evening, putting at risk the health and life of children, said the order issued on Tuesday evening.

Classes for Class 9 onwards were allowed to continue with due precautions between 9am and 3.30pm, the order said.

The DM had on January 19 revoked his order on closure of schools till class 8 due to cold that was initially issued on January 5.
