Centre approves plan to strengthen Parsarma-Araria stretch of NH-327E

A day after giving its nod to the alignment of six-lane greenfield Gorakhpur-Siliguri expressway project, the Central government has approved the Bihar government's proposal to strengthen the Parsarma-Araria stretch of the national highway (NH-327E).

PATNA:

State road construction department (RCD) minister Nitin Nabin on Sunday said that the 111.82 km long Parsarma-Araria section of NH-327E would be developed as a two-lane with paved shoulder in 45 metre width (right of way). "The project to strengthen NH-327E is estimated to cost ₹1,979.51 crore. Under this, 24.60 km bypass, 12.18 km realignment and 75.04 km road widening and improvement work will be done," said Nabin.

The current right of way of the NH is barely 15-30 metre. After the strengthening, ROW of the road would be 24 metres, 30 metres, 32.5 metres and 45 metres in different areas.

Earlier on Saturday, the Central government has approved the greenfield alignment of Gorakhpur-Siliguri expressway, which will pass through eight districts of north Bihar.
