Post-Mortems in 4 Hrs, Digitization of Reports in New Guidelines in U.P.

The hospitals in Uttar Pradesh have been directed to complete all post-mortem examinations in the state within a maximum of four hours, a statement from the government said on Friday, in a move aimed at "reducing the suffering" of grieving families.

Acting on the instructions of deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, who also holds the health portfolio, the state health department issued the guidelines to be implemented across all post-mortem houses in Uttar Pradesh, the statement said.
