Fog hits train, flight ops, air remains 'very poor'

A dip in wind speeds, coupled with increased moisture levels, led to parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) recording very dense fog for a third straight day on Saturday, resulting in visibility dropping to zero for much of the night.
NEW DELHI:
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast similar conditions on Sunday and has issued a yellow alert for dense fog, but has said that the visibility will improve starting next week.
Safdarjung, representative of Delhi's weather, recorded zero visibility for eight hours from 12.30am to 8.30am on Saturday, which later improved to 100m at 9am. Palam recorded nine hours of zero visibility from 11.30pm on Friday to 8.30am on Saturday, which improved to 50m at 9am.
