Delhi HC Awards ₹20 Lakh To Castrol In Trademark Case

The Delhi high court has awarded ₹20 lakh as damages to Castrol India Ltd, a manufacturer of automobile lubricants, in a trade mark infringement suit filed by the former against two oil manufacturers, for infringing its marks ACTIV, ACTIBOND.
NEW DELHI:
A bench of justice Mini Pushkarna in her February 18 order, released on Monday, said that the two manufacturers producing and selling oil, under the brand of Kapil Auto Workshop and Makkvoll Lubricants, deliberately attempted to mislead the consumers with regards to the true identity and association of the goods by using an identical colour scheme, get up and layout of the products.
