Acting to fully safeguard public health: CM

As Delhi's air quality entered the “severe” category, chief minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced a series of city-level mitigation measures to protect public health, including a temporary shift of all schools up to Class 5 to hybrid mode, after the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) invoked Stage 3 of the Graded Response Action Plan (Grap).

Gupta said the move to hybrid learning was aimed at shielding young children from toxic air exposure. “This decision has been taken with the health and safety of children as the government’s foremost priority. Challenges related to pollution are being addressed in a mission mode with no room for delay,” she said.
