State Forms Panel to Change Admission Rules Under RTE Act

After failing to exempt private-unaided schools from admitting students from socially and economically backward classes under the 25% quota mandated by the Right to Education (RTE) Act, the Maharashtra government has decided to revise the rules of the act.
MUMBAI: A seven-member committee has been formed to recommend changes in the existing rules. The panel has been asked to submit it in the next two months. An order to this effect was issued by the school education department on Wednesday.
