Want to host a party as it rains while also ensuring everyone's health is guarded? Here's some expert-approved mocktails with a healthy twist that you could try

- Soumya Vajpayee

Viral infections spread rapidly during monsoon. Hence, it's crucial to focus on building a strong immune system to protect yourself. So whether it’s grabbing a drink with office colleagues or weekend party scenes with friends, you can ensure that your mocktails have a healthy twist by opting for drinks with natural immunity-boosting ingredients.

“My go-to option during this time of the year is the Monsoon Shield, a zesty, tropical immunity booster that comprises ginger, basil, orange and lime juice, and passion fruit,” says Ravi Patel, executive bartender, The Westin Mumbai Garden City, Mumbai, adding, that the oranges have a vitamin C punch, ginger adds warmth and lime aids with immunity.

HOME INGREDIENTS TO THE RESCUE

To make your mocktails, one doesn’t need to look far or opt for expensive ingredients, as several pantry staples can be used to make delicious drinks. “Add ginger juice to citrus-based mocktails for its anti-inflammatory properties. It helps combat common cold and throat irritations during monsoon,” explains Chandan Roy, food and beverage manager, Courtyard by Marriott, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
