Punjab Must Release Addl Water to Hry: HC

The Punjab and Haryana high court on Saturday directed the Punjab government to release additional 4500 cusecs of water to Haryana, and sought the names of officers who allegedly prevented the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) officers from releasing additional water from the Nangal dam.
CHANDIGARH:
The directive came two days after BBMB chairman Manoj Tripathi told the high court that Punjab police prevented BBMB officials from releasing water to Haryana.
The high court bench of chief justice Sheel Nagu and justice Sumeet Goel sought a reply within two weeks and posted the matter for further hearing on May 28.
