AYODHYA: The temple town of Ayodhya witnessed a surge of devotees on Wednesday on the occasion of the first anniversary of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple, as per the Gregorian calendar.
Devotees thronged the Janambhoomi path until late evening for the darshan of Shri Ram Lalla, while heavy security arrangements ensured a smooth and safe spiritual experience for all. The consecration ceremony had taken place on January 22, 2024, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the main rituals. The idol of 'Ram Lalla' was carved by Arun Yogiraj, a famed sculptor from Karnataka. The idol is 51 inches tall and weighs 1.5 tonnes. The idol portrays Lord Ram as a five-year-old child standing on a lotus, also crafted from the same stone.
