Man kills wife, uses her blood to stage suicide

A 35-year-old man allegedly stabbed his wife to death at their residence in Prayagraj before writing “mai pagal thi, mera pati nirdosh hai (I am mentally ill, my husband is innocent)” on the floor with her blood in an effort to disguise the murder as a suicide, police said on Monday.

The body of the woman, identified as Sushma Dwivedi (28), was found on the afternoon of November 14 at the couple's rented accommodation in Lohgara Bazaar area of Prayagraj. Police said that the deceased's husband, identified as Rohit Dwivedi, a security guard by profession, claimed he was on duty at the time of the incident and that his wife had died by suicide.
