Most States Want Tax Revenue Share Raised To 50%: 16th Finance Panel Chief

Majority of 28 states have asked the Finance Commission to increase tax revenue distribution between the Centre and states to 50%, panel's chairman Arvind Panagariya said on Wednesday.
LUCKNOW: Currently, states get 41% of the tax revenue while the remaining goes to the Centre.

Centre reviews VB-G RAM-G rollout preparedness
The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) on Saturday reviewed preparedness of states and Union territories for the rollout of the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025 (VB-G RAM G), which will replace the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) from July 1, officials aware of the developments said.
