HC expresses concern over sale of e-cigarettes

The Rajasthan high court has expressed serious concerns over the sale of e-cigarettes on online platforms and directed authorities to file a detailed affidavit regarding steps taken to curb its sale.
JODHPUR:
A division bench comprising chief justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava and justice Uma Shanker Vyas issued the directions on Thursday while hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Priyansha Gupta, who appeared in person to argue the case.
During the proceedings, the court observed, "From the contents of the petition, it is vividly clear that there is a menace of online platform sale of e-cigarettes. The affidavit filed by the ACP, PCR, Commissionrate, Jaipur discloses nothing except paper exercise."
