Chennai firm’s owner arrested; MP, TN spar

The owner of Tamil Nadu-based Sresan Pharma Company owner G Ranganathan wasarrested on Thursday in connection with the adulterated cough syrup case, police said.
Ranganathan was later produced before magistrate court in Chennai that granted a transit remand and he is being taken to Chhindwara in MP.
“The SIT team formed by the Madhya Pradesh government raided Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday and arrested Ranganathan. He will be brought to Chhindwara on Friday,” said Chhindwara superintendent of police Ajay Pandey. SIT also seized important documents, drug samplesand production records from the company in Kancheepuram.
