Bhati forest revival plan sent to NGT by forest department

The Delhi forest and wildlife department has identified all forest pockets in south Delhi's Bhati village where construction and demolition waste is being dumped and has asked the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to remove it, officials informed the National Green Tribunal (NGT).

Plans to rejuvenate these patches using the Miyawaki method, which creates dense, fast-growing native mini-forests, were also shared. In a status report submitted to the NGT, the department stated it “proposes to plant 60,000 saplings of native species on these identified forest parcels in Bhati village using the Miyawaki method.”
