A 36-year-old man allegedly raped a 26-year-old woman inside a parked state transport bus at the busy Swargate bus station in Pune city of Maharashtra, police said on Wednesday, adding that the accused is on the run.
PUNE: A 36-year-old man allegedly raped a 26-year-old woman inside a parked state transport bus at the busy Swargate bus station in Pune city of Maharashtra, police said on Wednesday, adding that the accused is on the run.
The incident has since sparked outrage across the city, with protesters vandalising security office at the bus stand and the National Commission for Women (NCW) demanding immediate action in the matter. In the wake of the incident, the government ordered that all the private security guards at the bus station be replaced.
