Edu system dominated by upper castes, says Rahul; BJP hits back

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has said that India’s education system is run by private players and is dominated by “upper castes”, triggering a sharp response from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which alleged that the Congress leader speaks against the country during his foreign trips and is closely working with anti-India groups.

During an interaction at an event held in Peru, Gandhi criticised India's education system and said the Centre should not “abrogate the responsibility of education to private players”. “India has a social system with upper castes dominating. Middle and lower castes, which form the bulk of the population, are not represented in education. I would like to include the history and traditions of our adivasis, tribal people, middle castes, and lower castes in the system,” he said.
