UP MLA Jailed for 2 Years in '22 Hate Speech Case

A special MP-MLA court sentenced Uttar Pradesh MLA Abbas Ansari, son of deceased gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, to two years in jail in a 2022 case of hate speech.
VARANASI:
Special MP/MLA court judge KP Singh pronounced the sentence on Saturday.
According to the prosecution, in the run up to the 2022 assembly elections, Ansari threatened the Mau administration saying he will "settle scores and teach them a lesson" after the elections.
