Kerala HC Rejects Plea Seeking Transfer of ADM Death Case to CBI

The division bench of the Kerala high court on Monday rejected a writ appeal for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe filed by the wife of ADM Naveen Babu, who was found dead at his official government quarters in Kannur in October last year.

The bench of justices PB Suresh Kumar and Jobin Sebastian, rejecting the appeal, stated that the personal feelings of the victim were not enough to warrant a transfer of the probe from the present police SIT to the CBI.

Earlier on February 6, a single judge bench of the HC also dismissed the request of Manjusha, wife of the deceased officer, for a CBI probe into the case. The wife had claimed that the current police probe lacked credibility and that the accused had ties to the state's ruling party CPI(M) and could influence witnesses at ease.
