Four suspects arrested in Bantwal murder case so far: Home minister

Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 32-year-old man from the minority community in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, home minister G Parameshwara said on Thursday, adding that further action would follow based on the information gathered from them.

"Four people have been arrested after the murder, and based on their statements we have got some serious information, using which further investigation and action will follow," Parameshwara said after meeting Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao. He added that the government has taken the killing seriously and would not tolerate communal violence.

Meanwhile, the local police have confirmed that three suspects—Deepak (21) from Kuriyala village and Prithviraj (21) and Chintan (19) from Ammunje village—were taken into custody so far. They were apprehended from Kanapady in Kallige village. The three have been accused of murdering Abdul Rahiman and attacking his co-worker, Kalandar Shafi.
