GOVT TO LAUNCH COOPERATIVE RIDE-HAILING APP

The government will soon launch India's first ride-hail-ing app, ‘Bharat Taxi’, based on a cooperative business model, Union home and cooperation minister AmitShah told Lok Sabha in awritten response on Tuesday.

The taxi service, which will be available in multiple cities, will be run by the Lucknow-based Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd, a multi-state cooperative society, registered under the Multi State Cooperative Act 2002, Shah said. ‘The cooperative was registered on June6 this year.
