TORQUAY United have appointed a new chief executive officer - Mark Thomas - after what it says has been a 'four-month national and international search'.
The move will allow former CEO Joe Lovell to concentrate on his sports clothing business, VX3, with Thomas will answer directly to the board of directors - as the club continues to build for a better future after an encouraging first season under the stewardship of the Bryn Consortium.
Thomas has vast experience in the world of business after carving out a career in sports administration and marketing.
A statement from Torquay said: "This appointment follows an extensive four-month national and international recruitment process led by Red Star Search and overseen by the club's board, during which a shortlist of six outstanding candidates were interviewed.
"Mark emerged as the stand-out choice due to his exceptional track record in commercial strategy, sports business development and team leadership.
