Experiment over schooling seems to be failing the grade
Herald Express
|June 25, 2025
A NUMBER of media reports in the past week have once again laid bare the effects of government policy on education for those children with a special educational need or disability (SEND).
We were told that ‘rich’ parents could easily afford the imposition of VAT on private school fees, with Labour intimating that the wealthy only frequented these establishments in an effort to leapfrog their children’s prospects over the population at large, who were forced to make do with the state offerings.
In an effort to sell this policy, Labour told us that 6,000 new teachers would be employed in the state sector and that the ‘rich’ would pay for it in a flourish of socialist dogma.
