48 arrested in major crackdown on organised crime

A WOMAN alleged to be involved in using a drone to drop drugs and SIM cards into Dartmoor Prison was just one of 48 people arrested in a major crackdown on organised crime in South Devon.

Hundreds of thousands of pounds’ worth of drugs and dozens of weapons have been seized by the Proactive Unit (PAU) since the beginning of this year. The unit, which operated across Teignbridge, South Hams and Torbay, targets organised crime and drug networks in the area.
Since the start of 2025, the PAU has seized a total of £143,535 worth of drugs in South Devon, through a mix of warrants, stop searches and even intercepting international parcels with Border Force patrols.
