Sharjah CP greets UAE President, Sharjah Ruler on ACL Two triumph

Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, offered heartfelt congratulations to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on the occasion of Sharjah club's victory in the AFC Champions League Two final.

He hailed the club's success as a significant milestone that brought pride to the nation by raising the UAE’s name and flag high on the continental stage.

He noted that the victory reinforces the country’s sporting achievements and highlights the ongoing progress of Emirati sports under the wise leadership's vision.

The Crown Prince also congratulated the players, coaching staff, and administrators of Sharjah team, along with the club's dedicated fans across the country.

He praised their united efforts, which led to a remarkable and historic win for both Sharjah and the UAE.

Sharjah claimed the AFC Champions League Two 2024-25 title with a dramatic 2-1 win over Singapore's Lion City Sailors at Bishan Stadium on Sunday as Marcus Meloni scored deep into added time to secure victory for the side from the UAE.

The final looked to be heading for extra-time when Lion City’s Maxime Lestienne cancelled out Firas Ben Arbi’s 74th minute goal but Meloni struck in the 97th minute to give Sharjah head coach Cosmin Olaroiu the perfect send off before he takes over as UAE national team boss.
