Lessor 'cannot terminate or amend' lease contract

According to the law, the property owner is not allowed to terminate or amend the lease contract unilaterally, except in the cases stipulated by Law No. (33) of 2008 and its amendments, issued by the Real Estate Regulatory Agency “RERA," which regulates the relationship between the lessor and the lessee.

According to Article (25) of the law, the owner has the right to demand the tenant's eviction before the end of the contract in specific cases, most notably: the tenant's delay in paying the rent for 30 days from the date of official written notification, or his leasing of the property without a written agreement from the owner, using the property or allowing it to be used for illegal purposes, or making changes or damages which endanger the safety of the building, or using it for a purpose other than that agreed upon in the contract.
