Kerala appeals against HC order on Waqf panel

TRIVANDRUM: The Kerala government has appealed against the High Court’s (HC)recent order that nullifiedtheinquiry commission established to resolve the dispute over Waqf land in Kochi.
For months, families in the coastal village of Munambam have been protesting after a group questioned their right to live on Waqf land and approached the HC.
Last month, the state government established a commission of inquiry to investigate the dispute, which some political parties use to create a communal divide.
