IHC issues contempt notice to federal cabinet in Aafia case

Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued a contempt notice to the federal cabinet over its failure to submit a report in the Dr Aafia Siddiqui case.
Some people dubbed the order unique in the sense that this is perhaps the first time that the entire cabinet has been issued the contempt notice.
"I am issuing a contempt of court notice to every member of the federal cabinet," Justice Ishaq said during a hearing of the plea filed by Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s sister, Dr Fauzia, regarding the former’s health and repatriation from the US prison.
Dictating his short order, Justice Ishaq said that the next hearing of the case will be held on the first working day after the court holidays.
