Dubai Police arrest man for reckless driving at high speed

Following reckless behaviour that endangered others, Dubai Police apprehended a young Asian man who was captured on video driving dangerously, overtaking vehicles on the shoulder at high speed, putting both his life and the lives of other road users at serious risk.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic, stated that traffic patrols promptly initiated an investigation after the footage showed the driver operating his vehicle at excessive and unsafe speed.

He stated that such dangerous behaviours reflect a clear violation of the law and demonstrate disregard for human lives, stressing that sharing these videos encourages others to replicate this reckless behaviour and contributes to an increase in dangerous driving incidents. Furthermore, Al Mazrouei pointed out that this conduct constitutes a serious traffic violation and can inadvertently lead teenagers and those unaware of the risks to engage in similar actions. He emphasized that disseminating such content harms the community and undermines efforts to promote traffic safety awareness.
