Court rejects case seeking annulment of gift contract

The Dubai Civil Court rejected a lawsuit filed by a man demanding the annulment of a gift contract for a villa he had granted in 2006 to his second wife and their two daughters in Dubai, or the termination of the contract and the recovery of the property or its value.

The court stated that the gift contract was registered with the Department of Land and Property and proved the transfer of ownership, and it cannot be revoked.

The case dates back to a lawsuit filed by a man in January 2026, in which he stated that in 2006, he gifted a villa in Dubai on a plot of land for residential purposes to his second wife and their two daughters, noting that he stipulated to his wife not to dispose of the property, but they divorced in 2021, and she sold the villa in 2025 without his knowledge, which prompted him to demand the annulment or termination of the gift and the return of the property to him or obliging the defendants to pay its value.
