Saudi expat offers free Umrah trips to low-income workers

Community Initiative lets people buy a package for those who can't afford the costs

Fulfilling a cleaner’s wish last year to perform Umrah gave Sophia Sarah Addas a new mission in life.

Since then, the Saudi expat based in Dubai has helped about 750 workers travel to Makkah and Madina on their spiritual journey. Her online platform Umrah4LaborWorkers lets community members can purchase an Umrah package for a labourer, who cannot afford to cover the expenses.

The package enables a labourer to embark on an eight-day trip to Saudi Arabia and perform Umrah for free.
