VISIT VISA INTRODUCED FOR Al SPECIALISTS ALONG WITH NEW HUMANITARIAN RESIDENCY PERMITS

- BY AGHADDIR ALI Senior Reporter ZAINAB HUSAIN Features Writer

New visa rules to attract global talent

The visa changes supports the UAE's goal of opening up to the world and attracting talented individuals, experts and entrepreneurs, particularly in technology, entertainment and tourism.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) has launched four new visit visa categories for specialists in artificial intelligence, entertainment, events, cruise ships and leisure boats.

Another visit visa also allows sponsorship of a friend or relative up to the third degree based on the sponsor’s income.

The ICP has also launched residency permits for humanitarian cases and for foreign widows or divorcees.

It has also launched a business exploration visa and a truck driver visa.

The move supports the UAE’s goal of opening up to the world and attracting talented individuals, experts, and entrepreneurs, particularly in technology, artificial intelligence, entertainment and tourism.

Maj Gen Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director-General of ICP, said the decision reflects studies and assessments conducted by the authority.
