Jaywan to roll out with credit card-like perks

UAE'S DEBIT CARD SCHEME WILL HAVE MULTIPLE VARIANTS

The UAE's domestic debit card scheme, Jaywan, is set to launch with a range of incentives and features typically associated with credit cards. This strategy is aimed at ensuring swift adoption across the UAE.

"Jaywan will be used for grocery buys, online purchases and all kinds of day-to-day activities," said Jan Pilbauer, CEO of Al Etihad Payments, which is part of the UAE Central Bank and responsible for developing and launching the Jaywan scheme announced in February 2025.

To make the card more appealing, Jaywan will offer different variants, each with its own set of benefits.
