Insurance firm refuses to pay for car submerged in rainwater

I insured my vehicle with an insurance company under a comprehensive insurance policy against loss and damage. A year ago, my vehicle was completely destroyed as a result of being submerged in rainwater. The police report confirmed that the accident happened due to reasons beyond my control. I asked the company to pay the value of the vehicle specified in the insurance policy concluded between us, but the insurance company refused. It claims that I failed to take necessary precautions to maintain the insured vehicle and protect it from loss and damage. What are my legal options? Am I eligible to recover the value of the car from the insurance company?

You are eligible to obtain the value of the car as specified in the insurance policy. You have to file a case against the insurance company before the Insurance Disputes Settlement and Resolution Committee to recover the value of the vehicle.
