As UAE gold prices stay high, buyers seek relief in discounts

UAE gold shoppers are once again getting straight discounts of 25 per cent or more on making charges as Dubai gold prices hold steady at Dh376 a gram for 22 carats.

One leading retailer, Kalyan Jewellers, has even launched a "double discount" campaign. In addition to 25 per cent off making charges, it is offering a further 25 per cent discount on purchases above Dh7,500.

According to industry sources, major jewellery brands are lining up "new season" promotions, mindful that gold prices remain high and could climb further. This time, offers are expected to focus even more on making charges, which form a key part of jewellery pricing.
