The visitors battled their way to a total of 189-4 after losing the toss, captain James Esler top scoring on 100 not out as Ross Martin claimed 2-44 while there were also tight spells from Myles Holland (1-10 from five), George Garratt (1-18 from four) and Ollie Horne (0-29 from eight).
Dumbleton, in reply, lost two wickets in the 19th over which ended with the score at 85-3 and Loddington feeling in with a chance.
