MAJOR roadworks will take place on part of the M4 for six months and drivers have been warned exactly where and when to expect the disruption.

- ROBERT DALLING

The work will take between junctions 37 and 38 near Pyle.

It is being carried out to “ensure the safety and long-term resilience of the motorway” and will begin on June 9.

The work involves refurbishment to five bridges on this stretch of the M4. It is said to be essential to maintain safety and prevent deterioration of the road.

The work will be carried out over a six-month programme in four main phases.

Here are details of preparatory works due to take place, as well as details of phase one works. Details on later phases of works will be published closer to the time.
