Civil servants demand action on delayed pension

The Civil Servants Pension Redress Movement (CSPRM) has raised renewed concerns about what it views as deliberate delays in addressing longstanding pension injustices affecting former government employees across South Africa and the former TBVC states of the Transkei, Bophuthatswana, Venda and Ciskei.

Die lede van die CSPRM se George-tak het 'n vreedsame betoging gehou buite die Wes-Kaapse Regeringsgebou in Yorkstraat, George, op Woensdag 26 November, waarin hulle gevra het vir dringende ingryping in die pensioenregstellingsprogram wat deur die Openbare Diens Koördinerende Bedingingsraad (ODKB) geadministreer word.
Hulle voer aan dat duisende voormalige staatsamptenare, wat onder apartheid gediskrimineer is, steeds die finansiële gevolge van onbillike pensioenberekeninge meer as 30 jaar later voel.
