On Monday 20 October, the George Music Society presented an innovative programme for piano quintet by some excellent local musicians.

Pianist Olive Sandilands (Mossel Bay) joined forces with the Viriditas String Quartet (from George, founded in 2023) with violinists Stéfan Conradie and Calvin Steyn, viola player Ingrid Robinson and cellist/arranger Cornèl Engelbrecht. The programme was called "(e)motion", with the overall theme being cinema classics. The programme could also have been called "The Art of Arrangement", and in this regard the acute ear and craftmanship of Cornèl, who arranged the bulk of the programme, were well illustrated.
