Rescued hoglet steals the show at comedy fest

A baby hedgehog has stolen hearts and headlines after becoming the surprise VIP at a Somerset comedy festival - rubbing shoulders (and spines) with some of the UK's top stand-up stars.

The tiny hoglet, rescued just before the Rode Comedy Festival, required two-hourly feeds and round-the-clock care.

Rather than miss out on the five-night event, her carers found a rather unique solution and a warm welcome backstage.

Jennie Owen and her partner Graham, who run Keyford Hedgehog Rescue and Rehab, had already booked tickets for the entire festival when an emergency intake changed their plans. The couple reached out to festival organisers with an unusual request: could they plug in an incubator somewhere discreet?
