That is, painting is the best among all arts.

Through the practice of painting, one can attain dharma (religion), artha (wealth), kama (erotic/cardinal desire) and moksha (salvation). There is nothing as auspicious as painting pictures at home. Although the murals culture in India dates back to the 2nd century B.C. (for example, the Ajanta murals), the Shekhawati frescoes were influenced by the Jaipur and Mughal schools of paintings of the 16th century. These paintings had in turn been inspired by Persian art.

The devoted multi styles artist from Bhilwara Rajasthan, Bhairun Lal Swarnkar, who is involved with the restoration work of Shekhawati's Poddar Haveli (mansion) Navalgarh since 1995 explains that due to the poor financial condition of the family, he could study till 11th standard. While studying biology, his interest in painting was awakened by drawing pictures of animals in experimental files.

To earn his living, Bhairun Lal worked for 8 years, painting advertisements on walls in states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, etc. He was doing advertisement work just for a living but it didn't please his artist's heart. Meanwhile, doing this work he remembered the words of his source of inspiration, Nanaji (Grandfather) Shri Kishan, that if you do something unique in life, only then this world would give respect to you. Then he started searching for a guru. His search ended when he met internationally renowned and President Awardee artist Badrilal. Under his guidance, Bhairun Lal worked for 13 years on the surfaces of silk cloth, paper, leather, ivory etc., making many miniature paintings on various subjects in Mughal, Kangra, Basohli, Mewar, Shekhawati, Kishangarh, Amber, Bundi, Nathdwara styles. During this time, he also learned the nuances of miniature art from his guru.
