Due to this people-centric approach our history and civilisation has taught us, India has been called the mother of democracy. This is the spirit with which Narendra Modi works. Our governance is directed towards empowering the people, not the ruler, and empowerment comes from unity and united action for a great common cause. Mahatma Gandhi had realised this early, which is why he turned every event into a mass movement. He ensured public mobilisation, awareness and activism to make his programmes successful and connected to people's sentiments and aspirations.
